To all the lady travellers out there, it’s understandable how hectic the packing stage can be when you need to take all the necessary items with you but then realize that the luggage will be resting on your shoulders!

While NOT making any compromises yet keeping it compact, here’s a well-thought list of all the travel essentials for women — the top picks of travel necessities, which not just contains the women’s necessary stuff but other important things as well.

This packing list has always been a saviour for me as well as my fellow travel chics ;), so I gave it the thought of sharing it with others too! And so, here you go:

1. Carry Bags:

First things first, a tough trekking or hiking bag or simply a suitcase has to be your new bestie regardless of your destination. A sturdy and durable waterproof bag will protect your belongings in snow, rain, or whatever weather conditions.

Moreover, it’s a one-time investment, so do check out some top-notch quality, lightweight, rucksack, and waterproof trekking backpacks before starting your adventurous journey.

A smart babe is a chic babe, said your Boss Lady.

2. Documents:

You can take the chance to forget anything but your documents. Your documents are the key to your identification, not just when traveling internationally but everywhere.

From transportation booking to hotel check-in, you need your documents. Hence, please keep a couple of Xerox of these with you or just use a digital locker.

  • Passport
  • Travel VISA
  • Tickets
  • Accommodation reservations
  • Essential Vaccination certifications
  • Citizenship proof
  • Medical and travel insurance proof

Check out if there are some specific documents needed for the place, beforehand. Trust me it might seem like a lot of work or something you might want to procrastinate, but please no. It will be worth it. After working so hard in life, you deserve this vacation completely free of stress.

3. Mix-match Wardrobe:

Having versatile clothes will allow you to have more attire in less space. Reversible jackets can be worn more in than one style, also shrugs can be worn diversely. Keep tops and tees that match with more than one pair of jeans, trousers, lowers, etc.

4. Toiletries:

Some of us have heavy or irregular periods or both, while some have to go on business trips just before our due periods’ dates, and then some of us are so crazy about traveling that we have just stopped caring about these dates.

Our old not-so-buddy, periods, can say hey to us anytime, so better be prepared for it. Do take sanitary pads, tampons, panty liners or menstrual cups, etc with you. Napkins, tissue papers, or wipes too can be helpful when you’re short of water or just tired. Moreover, take solid toiletries with you instead of liquid ones.

Carrying trimmers or razors is also a good option. That too when they have negligible weights. The feminine urge to be clean shaved and smoothened can kick at any time.

6. Cramp roll-on/Heat patch:

While traveling it can be difficult to manage your period cramps, thus a cramp roll-on or a cramp heat patch is a must. As we know, a cramp roll-on gives relief and a cooling sensation.

Furthermore, a heat patch is a padded sheet, which has a sticky backside underneath the peel-off cover. You need to stick it on the outside of your panty and that’s it. It will provide warmth for almost the next 8 hours.

5. Pee Funnel:

Yes, as the name suggests, a pee funnel is for peeing in emergencies. Gone are the days, when we used to be envious of men for their ability to pee almost anywhere and anytime! Now we can too.

This small funnel is just a lot useful when you’re traveling to areas with worst or no public washrooms, or maybe when you have just no time to find one.

7. Toilet Spray:

Using public washrooms at times can be difficult, and even more difficult when you’re aware of UTIs and how dangerous & painful they can be. Thus, keeping a toilet spray lets you make any toilet seat safer to sit on.

12. Pepper Spray:

Whether it’s a solo trip or a group trip, pepper spray is a must-have. Be responsible for your and your loved ones’ safety, there might be a time when even on your group trip you’re alone somewhere. In that case, you don’t need to be afraid while having this spray around.

8. Dry Shampoo:

This one though is less important but is unavoidable. Dry shampoo is a must-have for us, as while traveling we don’t always get the chance to wash our hair. Dry shampoo saves us elegantly.

9. Chargers & Power banks:

Of course, a charger is something no one forgets, but as I was mentioning power banks, so thought to mention it along with it. Well, clicking photos, recording videos, etc, can make your phone die in no time, and power banks are portable enough to carry around in pockets, so stuff like this is what a traveler needs the most. Do keep your power bank with you in case, and if not for yourself, then for that one friend who needs it every time!

10. Lingerie Organizer:

While packing, one of the major concerns for us is to NOT let the bra cups be creased. That shit hurts our souls! The crease or crack of the cup is just too painful to see.

So, here’s the solution, an organizer makes it easier for you to keep all your bras and panties in one place without worrying about folding and damaging them.

11. Deo roll-on:

The urge to feel fresh can kick in anytime! It’s important to stay clean and smell good even if it’s a solo trip. In winter, you may not want to take a bath daily, or in summer you’ll feel the impulse to take a bath again.

So, in moments like this, when you can’t have a bath, use it. And, even if you’re having a bath use it. It smells so refreshing! Apart from making you feel irritated, foul odor also makes you feel drained out, which kills the fun of traveling.

13. Pouches:

To be more organized within less space, use pouches. Keep alike stuff in one place, so that you won’t have to go on a rescue mission inside your bag looking for these. Moreover, keep a waist pouch as well, for keeping some cards, cash basic makeup stuff, etc.

14. Mask & sanitizers:

Masks are just as important while traveling as any other stuff, I’ll tell you why. Sometimes, going through places that don’t smell so pleasant, you might have the urge to just cover your nose, or when someone is smoking around, or when you think you can catch an infection from the person sitting beside you, or maybe some introverts like me who just don’t want to show their faces at some places or other, etc; in such situations having a mask can be your saviour as well.

Sanitisers are as important as anything else. Places where you don’t have enough water or simply want to save water. Using sanitizer is a convenient and effective way of getting rid of germs.

15. Sunscreen & Sunglasses:

Well, it will be a crime to forget these if you’re going on trekking. Saving your skin from getting tanned and your eyes from catching those harmful UV rays. So, do keep these with you whenever you step out.

16. Neck Pillow & Sleep Mask:

If it is a long trip, then a neck pillow will save you from a lot of pain, well, literally! If you’re someone who can’t sleep without having absolute darkness around, then my friend this sleep mask is going to be your best friend. You’ll be able to have peaceful naps while having these with you. Such a pillow will help you relieve your neck pain as well.

So, there you have my golden list, which saves me every time. I tried my best to cover all the unavoidably important items, that make trips easier and more comfortable, however, still we somehow just forgot one of these. But not anymore. Nonetheless, if you have a suggestion or an add-on to these, I’d love to make amends. You go, girl. Be safe and smart!
